Harvey Linder Ph.D., LP
Editor, Chief Clinical Consultant
Harvey Linder is a retired Clinical Psychologist. He worked in a variety of roles for Hennepin County’s Human Services and Public Health Department. His work was primarily with homeless and under-served populations, as well as community and faith-based organizations who sought to help that same clientele. Dr. Linder held management positions in the Child Protection, Children’s Mental Health, and Developmental Disabilities Programs while at Hennepin, work that brought him into constant collaboration with school systems, Community Corrections, Economic Assistant Programs, and the State agencies that provided oversight to all those systems. He also served for a time as Multicultural Affairs Officer for what was then the Community Services Department.
Dr. Linder was a co-founder and Past-President of the Minnesota Chapter of the Association of Black Psychologists and served as a national board-member (Mid-west Regional Rep) of that organization. He also served as a member and Chairperson of the Minnesota Board of Psychology. He received his B.A. from Duke University and his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. Since retirement, Dr. Linder has pursued his career-long interest of working in the community to improve access and develop strategies for more holistic care coordination for all users of the mental health and social service systems. He was drawn to Touchstone because of its like interest in adopting a holistic approach to integrating diagnosis and treatment with providing resources for assisting the whole person to become an effective member of the community.
